Sustainability Framework

Sustainability Framework

One of the key problems many organisations face is designing an effective programme for delivering and demonstrating delivery of Sustainable Development.

Our Sustainability Framework is a tool that can be used to support SD initiation and to assist in design, delivery and review. It provides a “logical framework”, allowing SD issues and approaches to be analysed and organised in a structured way. It is a powerful tool in a group situation where people have great knowledge of the subject, but are inexperienced in turning their knowledge into a concept and plan with clear objectives, activities and risks. It is good at bringing focus to discussions involving multiple departments, units or teams planning cross-cutting themes.

The Sustainable Development matrix allows you to pull together existing activities that are delivering SD benefits, and clearly develop and demonstrate a corporate approach linking them into a clear strategy. Clients have found this approach allows them to demonstrate more clearly what they are doing already to deliver SD.

We work with organisations in identifying their purpose for delivering SD, and then examining what outputs and activities are required to deliver these higher level objectives. This integrates the cross-cutting nature of SD with existing corporate activities and planning. It also ensures that the SD strategic approach directly contributes to the goal of the organisation.
